  1. 1.In the book A Taste of Blackberries the main social issue is grief. When the main characters best friend jamie dies the main character experiences many emotions. He is so sad that he doesn't eat or sleep. He just can't believe that something so tiny as a bee could cause someones death. The main character struggles with accepting Jamie's death and having to go on with death.
2.In Sun and Spoon Fredrick( Spoon) deals with the death at his Grandmother. He was very shocked when he found out.Spoon reacted the same way the main character in A Taste of Blackberries did. They both didn't eat. They were depressed over the loss of a loved one. Both stories showed how people struggle with death.

  2. QUESTION 1:The main social issue is grief. The main character had trouble dealing with this issue. The main character cried at the funeral because his best friend Jamie died. He does not even eat because he feels so guilty that it was his fault that he friend died. He could of helped save him but he didn’t because he thought he was putting on one of his acts. Jamie always is faking dying.

QUSTON 2: The “Taste of Blackberries” and “Sun and Spoon” are similar because Jamie is really close to the main character. In “Sun and Spoon”, Spoon is close to his grandmother and she dies and he misses her. They both try to keep the happy moments in their memories and not the bad memories with them.
